This section describes the types of Website Navigational Information that may be collected on MetaSource’s websites and how this information may be used.
Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes. Technologies such as: cookies, beacons, tags, and scripts are used by MetaSource and some of our business partners, affiliates, or analytics or service providers. These technologies are used in analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movements around the site, and gathering demographic information about our user base as a whole. We may receive reports based on the use of these technologies by these companies on an individual as well as aggregated basis.
We use session cookies to make it easier for you to navigate our site. A session ID cookie expires when you close your browser. Cookies enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site.
Enabling these cookies is not strictly necessary for the website to work but it will provide you with a better browsing experience. You can delete or block these cookies, but if you do that some features of this site may not work as intended.
What Cookies Do We Use?
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc., on our Site. Google Analytics uses cookies or other tracking technologies to help us analyze how users interact with and use the Site, compile reports on the Site’s activity, and provide other services related to Site activity and usage. The technologies used by Google may collect information such as IP address, time of visit, whether a visitor is a return visitor, and any referring website. The information generated by Google Analytics will be transmitted to and stored by Google and will be subject to Google’s privacy policies. They provide this information to their customers, who are businesses trying to reach business professionals for their own business-to-business sales, marketing, and recruiting activities.
You can opt out of ZoomInfo’s database by visiting the ZoomInfo Privacy Center. Using the Privacy Center is the quickest and easiest way to access your information or have it deleted or corrected.
Cookies and similar technologies help us show relevant advertising to you more effectively, both on and off LinkedIn Services and to measure the performance of such ads. We use these technologies to learn whether content has been shown to you or whether someone who was presented with an ad later came back and took an action (e.g., downloaded a white paper or made a purchase) on another site. Similarly, LinkedIn partners or service providers may use these technologies to determine whether we’ve shown an ad or a post and how it performed or provide LinkedIn with information about how you interact with ads.
LinkedIn may also work with their customers and partners to show you an ad on or off LinkedIn, such as after you’ve visited a customer’s or partner’s site or application. These technologies help them provide aggregated information to their customers and partners. For further information regarding the use of cookies for advertising purposes, please see Sections 1.4 and 2.4 of the LinkedIn Privacy Policy.
As noted in Section 1.4 of the LinkedIn Privacy Policy, outside Designated Countries, they also collect (or rely on others who collect) information about your device where you have not engaged with their Services (e.g., ad ID, IP address, operating system and browser information) so we can provide our Members with relevant ads and better understand their effectiveness.
For further information, please see Section 1.4 of the LinkedIn Privacy Policy.
Facebook uses cookies to help show ads and to make recommendations for businesses and other organizations to people who may be interested in the products, services or causes they promote.
For example: Cookies allow Facebook to help deliver ads to people who have previously visited a business’s website, purchased its products or used its apps and to recommend products and services based on that activity. Cookies also allow Facebook to limit the number of times that you see an ad so you don’t see the same ad over and over again. For example, the “fr” cookie is used to deliver, measure and improve the relevancy of ads, with a lifespan of 90 days.
Facebook also uses cookies to help measure the performance of ad campaigns for businesses that use the Meta Products.
For example: Facebook uses cookies to count the number of times that an ad is shown and to calculate the cost of those ads. Facebook also uses cookies to measure how often people do things, such as make a purchase following an ad impression. For example, the “_fbp” cookie identifies browsers for the purposes of providing advertising and site analytics services and has a lifespan of 90 days.
Cookies help Facebook serve and measure ads across different browsers and devices used by the same person.
For example: Facebook can use cookies to prevent you from seeing the same ad over and over again across the different devices that you use.
Cookies also allow Facebook to provide insights about the people who use the Meta Products, as well as the people who interact with the ads, websites and apps of our advertisers and the businesses that use the Meta Products.
For example: Facebook uses cookies to help businesses understand the kinds of people who like their Facebook Page or use their apps so that they can provide more relevant content and develop features that are likely to be interesting to their customers.
Facebook also uses cookies, such as the “oo” cookie, which has a lifespan of five years, to help you opt out of seeing ads from Meta based on your activity on third-party websites. Learn more about the information Facebook receives, how Facebook decides which ads to show you on and off the Meta Products and the controls that are available to you.
We use the following categories on our websites and other online services:
Category 1 — Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential to enable you to browse around our websites and use their features. Without these cookies, services including user account login and access to video content cannot be provided.
Category 2 — Preference Cookies
These cookies collect information about how you use our websites and remember the choices you make while browsing. This data may be used to help optimize our websites and make them easier for you to navigate.
For instance, we may store your geographic location in a cookie to ensure that we show you our website localized for your area. We may also remember preferences such as text size, fonts, and other customizable site elements. They may also be used to keep track of what featured products or videos have been viewed to avoid repetition. The information these cookies collect will not personally identify you, and they cannot track your browsing activity on non-MetaSource websites.
Category 3 — Statistics Cookies
These cookies help MetaSource understand how visitors interact with our websites and help us improve our overall site experience.
MetaSource primarily uses Google Analytics on our website to provide statistics and reporting on our website performance. Our implementation of Google Analytics does not collect any personally identifiable data.
MetaSource Network Users: The user IDs used in Google Analytics are not personally identifiable, and there are several thresholds in place to link this non-identifiable user ID to an identifiable MetaSource Network user. MetaSource Network users may turn off the usage of Google Analytics within the application of MetaSource Network via their user profile which is described in MetaSource Network Online Help.
Category 4 — Marketing Cookies
These cookies are used to track visitor behavior on our site and potentially across non-MetaSource websites. The intention is to display MetaSource-specific content and advertisements that are relevant and engaging for the individual user. The information these cookies collect will not personally identify you and is used to target content to users anonymously.
How to Control Cookies
You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish – for details, see aboutcookies.org. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer, and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site, and some services and functionalities may not work.
Web Beacons
MetaSource uses web beacons alone or in conjunction with cookies to compile information about customers’ and visitors’ usage of MetaSource’s websites and interaction with emails from MetaSource. Web beacons are clear electronic images that can recognize certain types of information on your computer, such as cookies, when you viewed a particular website tied to the Web beacon and a description of a website tied to the Web beacon. For example, MetaSource may place Web beacons in marketing emails that notify MetaSource when you click on a link in the email that directs you to one of MetaSource’s websites. MetaSource uses Web beacons to operate and improve MetaSource’s websites and email communications.
MetaSource may use information from Web beacons in combination with data about MetaSource customers to provide you with information about MetaSource and its services.
Log Files
As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, the files viewed on our site (e.g., HTML pages, graphics, etc.), operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data. We may combine this automatically collected log information with other information we collect about you. We do this to improve the services we offer you.
Do Not Track
Currently, various browsers (such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari) offer a “do not track” or “DNT” option. MetaSource does not currently commit to responding to browsers’ DNT signals with respect to MetaSource’s websites, in part, because no common industry standard for DNT has been adopted by industry groups, technology companies, or regulators, including no consistent standard of interpreting user intent. MetaSource takes privacy and meaningful choice seriously and will make efforts to continue to monitor developments around DNT browser technology and the implementation of a standard.
Behavioral Targeting / Re-Targeting
We partner with a third party to manage our advertising on other sites. Our third-party partner may use technologies such as cookies to gather information about your activities on this site and other sites to provide advertising based on your browsing activities and interests. If you wish to not have this information used for the purpose of serving you interest-based ads, you may opt-out by clicking here. Please note this does not opt you out of being served ads from other organizations or from MetaSource, but MetaSource will not track your information to provide targeted ads.
